DESCRIPTION

The Bink Xtra is an Xtra written for Macromedia Director 7 and above using C++. It allows the playback of RAD Game Tools Bink Video Technology, which is a true-colour codec capable of video playback quality greater than MPEG-II.

The Bink Xtra is available for both Windows based PC's and Apple Macintosh's running OS X.

Director does not natively support Bink, but my Bink Xtra provides an interface between Director and the Bink SDK, allowing for the playback of Bink video via Director's programming language - Lingo.

Using the Xtra's API, Bink video can be output direct to Director's stage window or to a cast member allowing for the Bink video to be treated as a sprite by Director.
